Meet our Affiliated Occupational Therapists
Building Blocks Occupational Therapy is a roaming service that also operates nearby as an affiliate of Time to Shine Therapy.
Occupational Therapists (OT's) are university-trained health professionals who help people improve a child's ability to do everyday things that they want or need to do. OT's help people to: improve their ability to look after themselves (for example, eat, dress, or complete personal hygiene tasks), take part in tasks at work, school or preschool, or enjoy leisure activities. OT's work with people who might have difficulties because of injury or illness, psychological or emotional problems, developmental delay, intellectual disability or physical disability.
OT's work with children who can’t take full part in everyday life for some reason. The OT’s job is to help your child develop independent living skills and participate to the best of his ability in everyday activities. OT's consider all areas of your child’s development, including thinking, speech, language, gross motor skills and fine motor skills. OT's also look at your child’s environment, including physical, social or legislative barriers that can make life hard for your child, and try to find ways of improving the environment or working around these barriers.
Building Blocks Occupational Therapy is a private Occupational Therapy practice that aims to empower kids to reach their full potential. Our purpose is to help kids overcome life’s obstacles and challenges by facilitating a fun and safe environment where kids are fully engaged in the positive activities chosen to create a “just right challenge’, that enables them to develop the skill and confidence they need to successfully participate in everyday activities.
